ALP_Ass4 : Industrial Portrait Pre-production notes
( I just noticed I didn’t put this up on the blog – so I’m late, but I’m here! )
1.What is your intention in terms of how you plan to use the available light?
I plan on using two lights ( umbrellas or softboxes ) and having a lower shutter speed to get the background ambient light.
2. What is the reason for your lens choice?(Do you want the compression of a long lens or the exaggerated perspective of a wide angle, fixed focal length or zoom)?
Umm.. I’m using the only one I have as I always answer, 55 – 85 mm, going for the wide angle look with a zoom.
3. What aperture do you plan to use and why?
f 5.6 ish
4. What shutter speed to you plan to use and why?
Around 1/80th depending on how close I put my flashes..
5. Do you have enough available light to achieve these camera settings?
should be, yeah.
6. Do you have enough strobe to achieve these settings?
Hopefully.
7. Do you have too much light to achieve these settings?
I don’t think so, if so I will either back up my lights or change my shutter speed.
8. Are there any technical problems that will need to be addressed at the shoot or in post-production?
Not that I can think of right now, no.
9. How will you be addressing color balance?
Green gels.
10. What is the equipment you will need for the shoot?
1 Profoto Kit
2 Black stands
1 Medium Softbox
2 Gels
Tripod
Light meter
I reflector disc
2 extension chords

Are there any other special requirements or information?
