La fête des Neiges is an outdoor children’s festivals which takes places from January 22nd to February 6th 2011. General admission is free and only a few of the activities cost money.
Whether it’s walking along the Parc’s trails or strolling through the very festive Allée Carnavalesque, tube-sliding, playing ice hockey, kicksledding on snow or skating alongside the river, you won’t be bored for a second! It is definitely a great place to bring children and there are plenty of hot chocolate kiosks and indoor restaurant to warm the soul after a few rides down the hill. The friendly entertainers dressed up in various theatrical costumes are to be found all around, giving out free hugs and doing staged shows and songs.
I enjoyed myself alongside my brother and niece one weekend this winter at la fete des neige, but if you do not have children or do not like children, please.. do not consider going there. Big crowds of parents and complaining children are to be found almost everywhere, and all the food and beverages are ridiculously overpriced. That was to be expected I guess!
This event takes place at Parc Jean Drapeau which makes it easy to get there by metro, if interested please check out their website : http://www.parcjeandrapeau.com/74-106-Program-La_fete_des_Neiges_de_Montreal_en.html
